That Little Demon

I’ve never read it but giving the synopsis a once over it seems interesting so I will give it a read. The major point of contention is that in the modern age of every single person having multiple personalities, one digital and one in the “real” world, we can create ourselves on our social media and live our lives in the third person. Only show the good. This is why most blogs are trash. This is why Facebook and Instagram and twitter are trash. The generation never took the leap this book suggests. We are more isolated from society than ever. We cannot come together and form something different than a capitalist society. There is no escape at this point. This may sound defeatist but in my opinion seeing the tail end of something destructive is an interesting point that many people in history don’t get to witness. We are going to have drones in our skies soon, tagging us for Facebook 2.0 seeing where we shop and what laws we break. The tipping point seems likely in our lifetime.
